Two bird cafe hours2/11/2024 Service was reasonable aside from oddities mentioned above, food makes up for service deficiencies - hence, the 'very good' rating. Home fries were absolutely perfect - crispy, crunchy outside and creamy inside. My omelette was good but could have used a little kick. Benedict was truly a taste experience: nice flavor blend with the salmon and perfectly cooked eggs (yolks not too runny, yet slightly solid). Spouse had the salmon eggs Benedict (which went by some other name) and I had an omelette with a southwestern slant (pasilla chilis, roasted corn, jack cheese, salsa fresca, etc.). Clearly the staff is a bit rough around the edges. Server exclaims "wow, what a great idea!". First round of mimosas was anemic but passable, but then realized they had fresh squeezed tangerine juice, so ordered the second round with that ingredient. No indication of available drinks, so inquired (not sure if they served alcohol) and was met with a stare as if we had multiple heads. Craned around to try to decipher the specials when finally, the server says, "oh, would you like to see the specials?". Handed menus and after several minutes noticed a white board with specials sitting off to the side. That was just the beginning of odd behavior from our server. We were immediately seated in the main dining room, although the server tried to initally seat us in the empty side room. Rainy Saturday late morning brought us to The Two Bird Cafe recently for a very nice brunch experience. All in all, I would definitely go back here because it's a great place with great food and friendly people and the prices are not as high as you'd find by other places in the area - they only charged $4 for my son's pancake in the shape of mickey mouse, and they even brought out a separate plate for him with little pieces of fruit in the shape of a face. They are all really friendly and the food came out quickly, so it made up for it. The server kept forgetting to bring a latte, but then was very apologetic and didn't charge us for it. For example, their strawberry rhubarb pie is delicious, mainly because they grown their own rhubarb out back (the place is situated next to a small organic farm). The food was really good, and they seem to take great care to use fresh and high quality ingredients. I can see this place being really cosy in the winter as well. It has a really cool feel to the place with hardwood everywhere and tables next to windows that open outwards. The outside deck is great and so are the tables inside.
